WILMINGTON — Shane Hunter Miller, 45, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019. He was born May 21, 1973, in Wilmington.

As a young boy, Shane had a passion for skateboarding and excelled in the sport. As a teenager into his adulthood, Shane loved surfing. While living in Hawaii on Sunset Beach, on the island of Oahu, his uncle was instrumental in teaching him how to ride the big waves. The north shore was his home away from home. After moving back to the Mainland, Shane continued to skateboard and surf as much as possible.

Shane was loved by many and never met a stranger. He was so passionate about the program he attended. Shane was kind and loving and helped anyone he could. At one time, he owned his own painting business, but due to a previous back injury and severe epilepsy, he was unable to continue in his business. He suffered a great deal with his back pain and seizures. We know that Shane is now out of pain and in peace with his Lord and Savior.

Shane is survived by his mother, Robin Miller; and sister, Shanon Miller. We will keep him in our hearts and love him forever.
