WILMINGTON — Jesse R. “J.R.” Davis, 92, went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, Nov. 30, 2018.
He was born Jan. 8, 1926, in Wilmington to the late Arthur Davis and Marie Gregg. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Arthur Davis and Leroy Davis.
Jesse enjoyed working in his yard and playing many rounds of golf with Jim Coates. He also spent many hours volunteering for the DAV.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Davis; nephew, Billy Davis (Cyndy) of Greensboro; and brother-in-law, Chuck (Debbie).
A visitation will be at noon, Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Long Leaf Baptist Church. A funeral will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Joshua Reilly officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park with full military honors.
Our hearts are broken, but we know we will meet again.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice of Wilmington.
