Warren Charles Owens, 71, loved sunny mornings on the golf course

SOUTHPORT — Warren Charles Owens, 71, of St. James Plantation, quietly departed this life Friday, July 13, 2018, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington. He was surrounded by loved ones and a caring staff.

Mr. Owens was born in on Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and raised in Hazlet, New Jersey.

Warren loved sunny mornings on the golf course and evenings at the club or grilling in the backyard. He never met a stranger and was the most charming, charismatic man you’ve ever met.

He was a hard-working executive in the chemical and plastics industries for many years. In the recent years, he had become a dedicated consultant for the recycling business.

Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mildred Feglar of Hazlet, New Jersey.

Surviving are his children, Mike Owens of Durham, Lisa Owens of Santa Barbara, California, Melanie Guerrero, and her husband, Jose, of Monterey, California, and Laura Kaye of Atlanta; partner, Michelle Cantrell of St. James and Atlanta; brothers, Richard Feglar of Hazlet, New Jersey, and Michael Feglar, and his wife, Cindy, of Baldwin, Maryland; and four beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Chloe, Natalia and Metzli.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 16, at Brunswick Funeral Service, 3479 Southport-Supply Road, St. James.
