WILMINGTON — Eileen Gilmartin (nee Tyrrell), 86, a 14-year resident of Kure Beach and parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 20, 2018, in Wilmington.
Eileen was born Jan. 21, 1932, in New York City to Thomas and Adelina (Ciffone) Tyrrell. She graduated with honors from The Academy of Mount Saint Ursula in New York.
Eileen joins her devoted husband, Charles Gilmartin; and parents, Tom and Lil (Adelina), in heaven.
Eileen leaves behind her daughter, Nancy Brigham (Craig) of Kure Beach; son, Thomas Gilmartin of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, David, Christopher and Hannah; and her many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eileen’s memory to The Island Cottage, 1313 Bridge Barrier Road, Carolina Beach, NC 28428.
A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, May 25, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6650 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington.
