WILMINGTON — Glenda Hardee Brown, 69, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, April, 25, 2018, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Benjamin “Benjy” Brown.
Glenda was born Oct. 31, 1948, in Wilmington, a daughter of the late William Harvey and Myrtle Phillips Hardee. She worked for New Hanover County Schools until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Doris Russ and Barbara Fulcher.
Along with her husband, Benjy, she is survived by her sons, Stacy Brown, and his wife, Michelle, and Bruce Brown, and his wife, Karen; grandchildren, Chelsea Brown, Drew Brown, Hailey Brown Taylor, and her husband, Thadius, Lindsey Brown, and Dana Brown Schlotterer, and her husband, A.J.; great-grandson, Emmett Cole Taylor; brother, William Wayne Hardee, and his wife, Yvonne, all of Wilmington; two nieces who were close to her heart, Wendy Byrd, and her husband, Alan, and Susie Wells, and her husband, Paul; and several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 30, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
