WILMINGTON — Daniel Johnson, 84, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 1, 1933, in Fayetteville, N.C. He was a son of Daniel Franklin Johnson Sr. and Vera May Dew Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Ludwig.
He is survived by his nephew, Robert Ludwig, and his wife, Ginger, of Wilmington, and their children, Brooke Ludwig, Elizabeth Kidd, and her husband, Casey, Megan Stancil and Will Stancil, and his wife, Jennifer; his nephew, Jeff Ludwig, and his wife, Wendy, of Wilmington and their children, Christie Ludwig and Coleby Ludwig.
Mr. Johnson retired from Belk Department Store after 30 years. He was a kind, gentle and simple person who enjoyed reading, listening to music and watching old movies.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
