
OCEAN ISLE BEACH — Barbara Hurst Healy, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018.
Born March 9, 1934, in Parkersburg, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Robert Marion Seyler and Ann Smith Seyler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John “Ted” Hurst; sister, Charlotte Healy; and brothers, Robert and Richard Seyler.
She was a member of the Bricklanding Ladies Association and volunteered at St. Brendan Catholic Church Food Pantry. She retired from a career as a dental receptionist.
Surviving are her husband, William J. Healy Jr.; sons, John T. Hurst II (Linda) of South Bend, Ind., Jeffrey Todd Hurst (Stephanie) of Bonito Springs, Fla., James T. Hurst of Bonito Springs, Fla., Michael Healy (Maureen) of Clifton Park, N.Y., and James Healy of Wilmington, N.C.; daughters, J. Terri Fortin (Doug) of Hingham, Mass., Kathy Bost (Jeffrey) of Allison Park, Pa., and Mary Godfrey (Don) of Rahway, N.J.; brothers, John Seyler of Wilmington and William Seyler of Poland, Ohio; sisters, Margaret Huck of Lowell, Ohio, Linda DeBusk of Mooresville, N.C., and Jennifer Fryman of Marietta, Ohio; and 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 4, at Brunswick Funeral Service. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, March 5, at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church.
