
OAK ISLAND — Jacklyn White Gorton, 83, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018.
Mrs. Gorton was born Jan. 22, 1935, in New York, N.Y., the daughter of the late John and Wanda White. She was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.
An avid reader, Mrs. Gorton was a member of the Friends of the Library on Oak Island and the Caswell Beach Turtle Watch. She was a registered nurse for over 50 years, having retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, N.H.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Gorton, and his wife, Jill Morrow-Gorton of Greater Boston, Mass., and Joshua Gorton of Illinois; daughter, Dana Condemi, and her husband, Patrick, of Northern, Va.; brother, Gene White, and his wife, Linda, of New Jersey; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gorton was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gorton; daughter, Stacey Demerle; and brother, J. Andrew White.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 23, at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in the Northwood Cemetery.
