SOUTHPORT — Teresa Ann Willis, 56, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at her home.

Teresa was born Feb. 20, 1961, daughter of the late Bobby Sherrill Higgins and Wilma Bryant Higgins. She grew up and worked in Angier, N.C., until moving to Oak Island in 1986.

Teresa had a heart of gold and was such a selfless, caring person. She would give friends anything they asked for and all she wanted in return was a simple smile. Her kindness showed in everything she did, especially when starting her housekeeping service, “Teresa’s Magical Works,” which she ran for over 20 years. Many of the customers she met became treasured friends even after closing the business. Her strong faith saw her through many hard times and will continue to touch the lives of her friends and family.

Teresa leaves to cherish her memory her best friend and loving son, Jimmy Willis, and his wife, Mallory, of Southport; two brothers, Dennis Higgins and Wayne Dawes; the light of her life, her grandson, Brody Willis; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel with the Rev. Troy Knight officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
