
WILMINGTON — Mildred K. Risley, 77, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017. She was born Feb. 4, 1940, in Guilford County to the late Clinton and Esther Fogleman.
Mildred worked as a food and beverage manager. She loved to fish, gamble and spend time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Basinger.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, James Risley; father-in-law, Carl Risley; son, Rodney Foust, and his wife, Sharon; daughters, Sandy Jarrett, and her husband, Ronnie, Gwyn Gray, and her husband, Gene, and Susan Croom; nine wonderful grandchildren and 11 beautiful great-grandchildren; and siblings, several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home with Phillip Blackwelder officiating and Soloist Rhonda Allred. Pallbearers will be Rodney Foust, Wesley Jarrett, Hunter Croom, Travis Basinger, Trace Byrd, Frank Waters, Brian Burnett, Josh Jones and Adam Pugh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Winn-Dixie Hope Lodge, 2121 SW 16th St., Gainesville, FL 32608; or Lower Cape Fear Hospice of Wilmington.
