Margaret ‘Peggy’ Immordino

Margaret ‘Peggy’ Immordino

Margaret “Peggy” Immordino, 73, died peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, after a brief struggle with a terminal illness. Margaret was born July 1, 1944, in Trenton, N.J., the daughter of William and Katherine Berkeyheiser.

In 1963, Peggy married the love of her life and her high school sweetheart, Vincent C. Immordino. They lived in Trenton, N.J., where she was a hair dresser. In 1975, Peggy and her family moved to Wilmington, N.C. A few years after moving to Wilmington, she became a bank teller with Nations Bank, now Bank of America. She gave 34 years of service to Bank of America and retired in 2014.

In addition to raising their two children, she also taught the dance of “shagging,” to children and adults. Vince and Peggy loved the dance so much that they opened their own beach and oldies night club known as the Rock ‘N Roll Café. She enjoyed golf, our beautiful beaches and the majestic mountains of North Carolina.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Vincent; sons, Vincent Immordino of Atlanta, Ga., and Mark Immordino of Wilmington, N.C.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four nieces; and one nephew.

A celebration of life service for family and friends will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, at Federal Point Yacht Club, 910 Basin Road, Carolina Beach, NC 28428.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Lower Cape Fear Hospice in memory of Margaret “Peggy” Immordino.
