ASH — Katie Lee Stout, 54, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Katie was born June 26, 1963, in Marion, S.C., the daughter of the late John and Marion Allen Gore. She was a paralegal. Katie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and playing the piano. She unselfishly loved giving to others and was an avid supporter of Relay For Life.
She is survived by her husband, Kent Stout; son, Scott Stout, and his wife, Ashley of Ash; daughter, Jessica Hickman of Ash; grandchildren, Katie, Gunner, Jayden, Nolan and Zilly; two brothers, Mark Gore, and his wife, Harriett, of Ash, and Paul “Pee Wee” Gore, and his wife, Donna, of Ash; and her canine babies, Sophie and Chloe.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of New Hanover Regional Medical Center ICU for the excellent care and compassion given during the time of Katie’s illness.
