WILMINGTON — Winfield E. “Ed” Sippel Jr., 73, died Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Trinity Grove. He was born Sept. 10, 1943, in Orange, N.J., son of the late Winfield E. Sippel Sr. and Elsie Esser Sippel.
Ed was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Marines. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ward Sippel; two sons, Nicholas A. Sippel and Edward G. Sippel (Develyn); stepson, Dennis Grainger; three grandchildren, Michael Goins, Lance Sippel and Logan Sippel; and three sisters, Mary Painter, Joanne Kubalak and Carol O’Connor (John).
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, at his residence.
