Davis Delane Stanley, of Shallotte, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at his home. He was 66.
Delane was born on Nov. 26, 1948, in Brunswick County, a son of the late Hercules and Odessa Reynolds Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Ann Stanley and brother, Latham Stanley.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the American Legion, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Brunswick Co. Home Builders Assoc. and Commodore of the Myrtle Beach Yacht Club.
Surviving are his wife, Paula Dennis Stanley; two sons, Reggie Stanley and wife, Cheryl, of Gainesville, Georgia and Mark Stanley and wife, Greta, of Wilmington; daughter, Kelly Cooper and husband, Marshall, of Ocean Isle Beach; stepson, Brian Griffin, of Ocean Isle Beach; stepdaughter, Gina Floyd, of Oak Ridge; brother, Landis Stanley and wife, Linda, of Shallotte; eight grandchildren, Chris, Ethan, Alaina, Emily, Hannah, Rylee, Griffin and Graeson; three step-grandchildren, Laura, Gibbie and Gracie; and a great grandchild, Hayden.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte by the Rev. Landis Lancaster.
