Carolyn Stratton, of Ocean Isle Beach, died Nov. 3, 2015, at Hospice House of Brunswick. She was 83.
Mrs. Stratton was born on Feb. 12, 1932, in Morganton, a daughter of the late George and Eva Berry Whisnant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cyndi Stratton.
She retired as an administrative assistant to the dean of Catawba College.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, “Coach” J. Harvey Stratton Jr.; son, John Stratton III, of Greensboro; three granddaughters, Erin Brady (Chris), Lindsay Stafford (Ridge) and Macie Stratton; and two great-grandsons, Buck and Stratton Brady.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel by Dr. William Green.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice House of Brunswick, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
