Lori Ann Darrow died Aug. 12, 2015, at the age of 51.
It is now midnight. The belle of the ball has danced her last dance. She has gone home to be with her Lord. And the world is a little less beautiful today.

Lori Ann Darrow is now watching over her seven children and four grandchildren. By her side were her husband of 33 years, David Darrow; children, Amber, Bethany, Danelle, Bryan, Caliana, Aimee and Evan; both sets of parents, Mr. and Mrs. David L Chute and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Darrow; brothers and sister, Rob and Megan, Darlene, Chris and Emily, Dan and Dawn Penman; nieces, Emilee and Taylor Penman, Teagan Chute and Liam Chute; aunt, Nancy; uncle, Ted Shea; and grandchildren, Tyler Darrow, Kyla and Easton Cummings and Corbin Willetts.
From Bethany: “I have tried to find words to express my feelings but these feelings have no words. My worst nightmare has come true and like a child I want my Mommy to make it better. But she can’t. So I turn to my wonderful and amazing family as we come together in this awful time. I have the strongest family and we pull together like a ‘well-oiled machine.'”
From Bryan: “Mom was a hard worker and a good hugger. Mom, you were everything God promised you’d be when He chose you to be my Mom. You loved me the same as you loved my brother and sisters even though I am special. You showed me patience, understanding, courage and strength. Thank you for my brother and sisters.”
From Calianna: “If I had to explain my mother I would say she was the most forgiving, compassionate, kind, tenderhearted and gracious woman I have ever known. Having her as my own mother has made me very lucky and makes me want to strive to be just like her. She was my best friend and I wouldn’t change a day that I got to spend with her.”
From Aimee: “Mom deserved the whole world and so much more because she was the one who taught me to strive to be a perfect person and without knowing, she used herself as an example.”
From Evan “If there was one thing that stood out about my mom, it will be how understanding, strong and caring she was. She had the personality that people dream of having. She taught me so much about girls, so when I’m older I know she’ll be proud. She knew exactly what to say to me even when it was boy problems. She will always be my best friend and the best mom ever.”
From the family: “Lori, the love that you have brought to everyone you have touched will last forever. You are an amazing mother and the gift you gave your children is your time and more importantly, your undivided attention. Although we only had you for almost 52 years, we look forward to the infinite time we will once again be together at our Lord’s feet.”
The celebration of Lori’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at Pine Valley Baptist Church, 3940 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC 28403, followed by a time of fellowship at the fellowship hall.
