The $1.76 million program was approved by Leland Town Council as part of the fiscal year 2024-2025 budget, following a 2023 roadways assessment and the selection of an engineering firm in 2024 for survey and design.
The project began on Grandiflora Drive near Kobus Court and will move through several streets in the Magnolia Greens area, including: Wyland Court, Greymoss Lane, Tommy Jacobs Drive, Sunburst Way, Carolina Avenue, Westport Drive, Eric Court, Potomac Court and Avebury Court. About five miles of Leland roadways will be repaved this year.
The work, which includes milling, patching, asphalt overlay, pavement markings and new street signs, is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents are encouraged to travel cautiously through construction zones and should expect delays.
