NEW HANOVER COUNTY — The county announced a controlled burn will take place in the next week in in the 200 block of Lendire Road.
The burn area is 30-acres; North Carolina Forest Service and New Hanover County Fire Rescue will be monitoring the it.
It will take place behind New Hanover County Fire Rescue Station 16. The burn began Thursday and will last through Feb. 3. The county said it’s the first of several land-clearing burns in the area.
