WILMINGTON — TW Cast and Talent is looking for extras of all ethnicities 18 years and up, though particularly Black actors, to be considered for a locally filmed feature, “The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat.”
Based on the 2013 New York Times best-selling novel by Chicago writer and cellist Edward Kelsey Moore (he also wrote a followup, “The Supremes Sing the Happy Heartache Blues”), the story starts in the 1960s and moves through the ’90s. It follows Odette, Clarice and Barbara Jean — dubbed “The Supremes” — who meet every week at a local diner in Plainview, Indiana. Their stories oscillate between the high school years of the past into their present adulthood, and show a glimpse into resiliency and obstacles they face along the way.

Performing as the friends are Uzo Abuda, Aunjanue Ellis and Sanaa Lathan.
TW is looking for people of color between 18 and 35 to film Oct. 3 through the 20; scenes will be set in the 1960s and 1970s.
People of any gender from ages 35 to 50s are needed to film Oct. 21 through Nov. 11; scenes will be set in the 1990s.
Regular background extras and stand-ins are needed for the duration of filming. Regular extras will be paid $115 for 10 hours and stand-ins will receive $154; time-and-a-half is paid for every hour that exceeds the tenth.
Interviews for recurring background talent begin Friday, Sept. 23. All measurements must be updated in the TW Talent system since the piece is period.
Everyone booked for the film must be vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19; mandatory Covid tests are given prior to fittings and again closer to filming dates. All extras will receive an $80 bump per Covid test taken (that is not on set) and a $20 fitting bump.
