Horry County police say abducted baby could be near NC/SC border

Mason Bryant, 4 months old, was abducted by Akeem Bryant, 23

UPDATE: At 1:30 p.m., Horry County Police announced Mason Bryant was found and returned home safe. Officers continue the search for Akeem Bryant.

The Horry County Police Department is requesting assistance from Cape Fear region residents to locate a missing 4-month-old, who was abducted by his biological father. HCPD said in a press release they believe the two may be near the North Carolina/South Carolina border and is asking the community to keep its eyes out.

Four-month-old Mason Bryant is 24-inches long and 14 pounds, with curly black hair and brown eyes. He was abducted by his father, Akeem Bryant, 23, who is 5’11” and 215 pounds, with black hair. Bryant is not the child’s legal guardian.

The two were last seen when the child was taken from a location on Bill Grissett Road in the Loris section of Horry County. HCPD said it believes they are traveling in a 2012 black Cadillac SUV, tinted windows and chrome trim, with Nevada plate US N159.

Anyone with information is asked to call HCPD immediately via 911.
