New Hanover County libraries Winter Book Sale kicks off this weekend

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — The New Hanover County Public Library system is hosting its annual Winter Book Sale at the New Hanover County Northeast Branch Library, 1241 Military Cutoff Rd., starting this weekend.

More than 100,000 items will be on sale. Divided between 66 categories, products range from adult and children’s books to audiobooks to DVDs.

The sale will benefit the library system.

Items are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Prices decrease on items every two days.

Members of Friends of the Library are invited to a private, preview sale Friday, Jan. 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. People can join the club at the door for $20.

Shop days and times for the general public are as follows:

  • Jan. 15, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Jan. 16, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Jan. 17, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Jan. 21, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Jan. 22, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Jan. 23, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
