NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Come Nov. 5-7, the 26th annual Art in the Arboretum will take place at 6206 Oleander Dr. It will be returning in person since last year’s event was held virtually, per Covid-19 protocols. It will be hosted with safety measures in place, according to a release. Artists will be set up at booths outdoors in the garden.
Registration is open through Sunday, Sept. 26. Artists will be required to pay an entry fee and submit two photos of the art piece(s) they want to show at the event. Two- and three-dimensional art — paintings, photos, drawings, textiles, ceramics, metalworks, jewelry, etc. — is allowed.
The event is a fundraiser for the arboretum — which goes toward the upkeep of its 33 gardens and 4,000 varieties of plants — as well as the Wilmington Art Association. Proceeds are divided between the artist (70%), Friends of the Arboretum (25%), and the Wilmington Art Association (5%).
