WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department officers arrested several employees of local car dealership after a physical altercation with customers.
The following people have been arrested on charges of simple assault: Grant Parkins, 36, Tegan Canady, 37, and and Carson Miller, 53.
Stephen Oster, 36, also has a warrant for arrest on file that has not yet been served.
On Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, WPD officers responded to Carwise Auto Sales, located at 3516 Carolina Beach Road in reference to a physical disturbance. During the encounter, customers of the business attempted to retrieve their property from a vehicle; the customers were told by dealership employees to leave the property. An argument ensued and turned physical before officers arrived.
The Wilmington Police Department reports it is aware of a video circulating on-line allegedly depicting the argument and alleged assault.
A video of the incident appears to show the dealership employees, two white men and a white woman, arguing with a Black individual in the parking lot of the dealership. One of the employees begins to shove the man off the property and eventually hits the man across the face, which begins a tussle with the two male employees and the Black man. The video cuts off while the men are fighting and before the appearance of officers on the scene.
