LELAND — One person has died in a shooting that took place in Leland early Friday morning, with two others involved sustaining gunshot wounds.

Leland Police Department was called to the 100 block of Dixie Drive at 3:30 a.m. for an “in-progress critical incident.” Upon arrival, they found 35-year-old Dylan Hennessey deceased on the scene and the two others were treated for injuries at Novant NHRMC. Officers don’t believe there is a threat to public safety, as the incident was a domestic dispute and parties involved knew one another.

No charges have been filed currently, according to LPD. Though officers are working with the Brunswick County District Attorney’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation as the case continues to be looked into.
