LELAND – Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer H2GO has issued a stage 4 water
shortage alert, prohibiting all irrigation and non-essential water use effective immediately and until further notice.

Noncompliance with the order may result in civil penalities.

According to the utility authority, excessive customer irrigation has continued to increase over the past several weeks, putting the water system at capacity and threatening the integrity of water supply wells.

H2GO says it will evaluate daily water demands, system capacities, water supply well recovery rates, and precipitation to determine sustainable customer usage and possible easing of irrigation restrictions.

Customers can visit H2GO’s website for water conservation measures and to view voluntary and mandatory water restrictions prescribed by H2GO’s Water Shortage Response Plan.
