DMV to offer walk-in Saturday services this summer

WILMINGTON — Starting this weekend, the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will resume Saturday hours at 16 driver license offices, including the Port City

Walk-in services will be offered June 8 through Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. until noon. This includes the Carolina Beach Road office in Wilmington. The announcement comes after long lines have filed outside of the CB operation in recent months.

“Opening for Saturday hours at many of our busiest locations statewide is what customers want, need, and have requested,” Commissioner Wayne Goodwin said in a press release.

Drivers will be able to procure a license or ID cards, renew orders, address changes, obtain REAL ID issuances, and take road tests for those who completed the knowledge and written tests.

  • Greensboro, 2391 Coliseum Blvd.
  • Greenville, 4651 N. Creek Dr.
  • Huntersville, 12101 Mount Holly-Huntersville Rd.
  • Jacksonville, 299 Wilmington Hwy.
  • Monroe, 3122 U.S. Hwy. 74 W.
  • Raleigh North, 2431 Spring Forest Rd., Suite 101 (Spring Forest Pavilion)
  • Raleigh West, 3231 Avent Ferry Rd. 
  • Salisbury, US 29 S, 5780 South Main St.
  • Wilmington, 2390 Carolina Beach Rd., Suite 104 (South Square Plaza)
  • Winston-Salem, 2001 Silas Creek Pkwy.

NCDMV also offers many online services, including driver license and ID card renewals, ordering duplicate licenses and ID cards, address changes and voter registration applications.
