WPD investigating two shootings that occurred Monday

WILMINGTON — Two adults and one minor were injured in two Monday shootings under investigation by the Wilmington Police Department.

According to the WPD, officers responded to the 900 block of North 30th Street around 2:35 p.m. on Monday when officers heard gunfire. Upon arrival, they located one 14-year-old juvenile and one 18-year-old adult victim with a gunshot wound. Both individuals were taken to Novant Health NHRMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

In a separate incident around 3:36 p.m., the WPD responded to the 600 block of North 11th Street regarding a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located one 34-year-old male with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Novant Health NHRMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both of these incidents are ongoing investigations. The WPD is asking anyone with information to call the WPD at (910) 343-3609 or use the Tip 411 app.
