NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Authorities arrested seven people and expect to arrest more after breaking up what they described as a “major drug trafficking network operating in Wilmington.”
According to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO), “the Vice/Narcotics unit concluded a three-month investigation with the arrest of multiple individuals responsible for distributing large amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin in the Wilmington area.”
Detectives executed a search warrant for the residence 2207 Ovalberry Court, in a neighborhood off Gordon Road just north of Wilmington, according to NHCSO. Investigators seized: 504 grams of methamphetamine, 308 grams of cocaine, 105 grams of marijuana, 7 grams of heroin, 1,000 Xanax pills, and 4 firearms. The arrests appear to have occurred on Tuesday, August 6.
