Old Fayetteville Road over Sturgeon Creek to close for two days next week

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will close a portion of Old Fayetteville Road between Highway 74 and Lanvale Road for two days next week.

Crews are set to replace joists on Old Fayetteville Road bridge over Sturgeon Creek between Richfield Branch Street and Highland Hills Drive.

NCDOT will perform work between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 6 and 7.

Detour signs will be erected on-site to redirect traffic around Village Road and Lanval e Road.

“Traffic flow on the route is not expected to be heavily affected by roadwork, however drivers should be prepared for slower travel and remain alert for work crews” according to an NCDOT release.
