As the county’s top-performing market, Leland brought in 292.9 million in sales, a 22-percent share of the county’s total. Southport ranked second, at 13 percent of total sales in the county, according to BCAR.

The county topped $1.3 billion in total sales last year, a nearly 8-percent increase from 2017.
Total units sold increased by 4.4 percent in the same period, with 4,807 transactions in 2018. New listings decreased by 3.6 percent.
In 2018, Brunswick County saw the highest average sale price since 2007, before the recession. Average sale price reached $273,435, a 4.4 percent increase from 2017.
According to BCAR’s CEO, Cynthia Walsh, the county’s real estate market is in strong shape.
“Brunswick County surpassed $1 billion in total sales volume for the second straight year, with 2018 sales volume nearly 8 percent higher than last year, a remarkable achievement given that we were essentially shut down for a month due to Hurricane Florence,” Walsh said in a BCAR release Friday.
