CAROLINA BEACH — Whether you’re headed home after work or just visiting Carolina Beach, don’t forget to account for the Christmas Parade this weekend.
Once the parade begins, all through traffic on Lake Park Boulevard will be closed until the parade ends.

Intermittent closures Friday will begin at 5 p.m., with the entire road closed off to traffic at the start of the parade at 7 p.m.
Traffic will be detoured to Dow Road and Ocean Boulevard. To catch a good view of the parade, sightseers can set up anywhere along the parade’s path on Atlanta Avenue heading north along Lake Park Boulevard toward Federal Point Shopping Center.
The next day, Carolina Beach will continue holiday celebrations with its Christmas Flotilla. On Saturday, Dec. 1, the waterborne boat parade will begin at N.C. Fish and Wildlife ramp at Snow’s Cut. Circling through the marina, boaters will start the show at 6 p.m.
No traffic closures are expected for the flotilla, and parking should be readily available.
