
WILMINGTON—If the pomp and circumstance of the Azalea Festival has kept you at bay, fear not, downtown has something different to offer.
Dubbed the “Alt-Zalea Fest,” the alternative lineup has offered an escape from the traditional Azalea Festival pageantry.

The fourth annual Alt-Zalea fest will soon take over the Brooklyn Arts District in downtown Wilmington, offering a diverse menu of performances to choose from.
Six venues will feature 35 different acts starting at noon Saturday, April 13.
Check out the lineup below:
12 – 9 p.m. —Bottega will feature Ed Pickett, Jarrett Raymond, Patrick Carr, L.E.D., Infinity Fortress, Energy Tank, The Wormholes, Photoclub and We Ain’t No Goddamn Misfits.
12 – 7 p.m. —Goat & Compass will feature John Hussman, Anna Kareiva, Tumbleweed, The Yard Dogs and A Different Thread.
12 – 6 p.m. —The Foxes Boxes will feature Jim Ashley, Johanna Winkel, Billy Heathen, Evan Baker, Loomis and Rebekah Todd.
12:30 – 8 p.m. —Brooklyn Cafe will feature Zeal, Nimara, Kevin Earl, The Bonnie Allyn Band, Goldielux, Delia Stanley and Reef Blower.
1 – 4 p.m. —Edward Teach Brewing will feature Jason Ward, Cara Schauble and Chris Hedrick.
2 – 7 p.m. —Detour Deli will feature Jeremy Mathews, Laura McLean, Haley Banc, Annie McLelland and Vicki Burton.
