WILMINGTON — Azalea Fest 2018 in Wilmington kicks off this week and there will be several road closures in Downtown Wilmington due to the event. With thousands of visitors expected, parking options will also be limited this week.
Parking decks in Wilmington will likely fill fast and Azaela Festival 2018 has partnered with Uber as the ride sharing app of the event, and for certain events there will be an Uber drop-off location.
Metered street parking will be available and cost $1.25 an hour. It is free after 6:30 p.m. Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday.
The Wave Transit trolley will also be operating on an extended route for the festival.
Parking decks
- Wilmington Convention Center – 515 Nutt St. This deck will have hourly parking with rates posted at entry; cash and bank cards accepted
- Market Street Parking Deck – 115 Market St., $7 per day starting at 9 a.m. Friday, April 13
- 2nd Street Parking Deck (between Chestnut Street and Princess Street) – 114 N. 2nd St., $7 per day starting 9 a.m. Friday, April 13
- Library Parking Deck – 200 N. 2nd St., $7 per day
- Cape Fear Community College Parking Decks will also be available; cash only
- Nutt Street Deck
- Hanover/3rd Street Deck (limited public parking available at this lot – this will be the first lot to fill during the Concerts)
Road closures
Azalea Festival 2018 will have several road closures during the week, mostly for different events. A full list of road closures along with dates and times for them can be found on the map below, or by visiting the Azalea Festival website.
