SOUTHEASTERN, N.C. — Schools in Brunswick and New Hanover County will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, due to expected hazardous road conditions.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in surrounding counties.
Both Brunswick and New Hanover County Schools expect roads to be iced over in the early morning hours after temperatures drop late this evening and predicted precipitation.
Principals, custodians, and maintenance workers are being asked to report at their normal times to New Hanover County Schools.
Brunswick County Schools cited North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper’s State of Emergency Declaration in addition to National Weather Service prediction as reasoning for the delay.
