
WILMINGTON — Winter weather in the Port City has caused more than 50 traffic accidents that Wilmington Police have responded to since the ice and snow began falling last night.
WPD Spokeswoman Linda Thompson said there have been no major injuries and only minor property damages due to the accidents.
There are several intersections around Wilmington the police are urging motorists to avoid due to icy conditions.
The following streets have significant ice and should be avoided by motorist for now:
- Rankin Street between 15th and 16th Streets
- 3rd and Chestnut Street
- Kerr Avenue between Truesdale and Blue Clay Road
- 3rd and Wooster Street
