WILMINGTON — All three of the city’s pools will open for Memorial Day weekend, with appearances by Port City’s “best food trucks,” according to a release from the YMCA.
The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina partners with the City of Wilmington in running the Legion Stadium, Northside (which has a new splashpad) and Robert Strange Pools (find locations and info here). Food trucks will be stationed at each pool.
- Legion Stadium Pool – Pepe’s Taco Truck
- Robert Strange Pool – The Vittles
- Northside Pool – Poor Piggy Truck

The city pools will be open on Saturday through Monday, May 27-29, from noon to 5 p.m. each day (pools will also be open the following weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4). Daily swim passes are $1 for children and $2 for adults. Guests must complete a free registration to use the pools.
The YMCA and the City of Wilmington encourage early registration to avoid lines during the busy weekend. All families that preregister will be entered for free swimming lessons, courtesy of the YMCA.
