Commuters in Kure Beach and Fort Fisher should prepare for delays over the next few months as the Department of Transportation performs repairs on Fort Fisher Boulevard.
Repaving and resurfacing work will start on Wednesday, Sept. 9 on Fort Fisher Boulevard from E Avenue south to the Fort Fisher Boat Ramp. One lane will remain open at all times, and traffic will be directed by flaggers and portable message signs.
Workers will be out every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. The project is expected to be completed by Saturday, Nov. 21.
