Three homes on Holden Beach were damaged in a fire reported over the weekend.
According to Doug Todd, chief of the Tri-Beach Volunteer Fire Department, multiple crews responded to a fire at a home at 1079 Ocean Blvd. W. at about 8:45 p.m. Friday. The two-story home was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived.
The fire was extinguished at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, but the home was “destroyed,” Todd said. Two other homes–at 1077 Ocean Blvd. W. and 1081 Ocean Blvd. W.–were damaged in the fire.
“All homes were unoccupied at the time of the fire and there were no injuries,” Todd said. “Damage is estimated at over $325,000 to all homes. At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation.”
Firefighters from Civietown, Supply, Shallotte, Ocean Isle Beach and St. James fire departments, as well as units from Brunswick County EMS, Fire Marshal’s Office and Holden Beach Police Department responded to the fire, Todd said.
