A man riding a bicycle on Foxglove Court was forced off his bike, assaulted and robbed on Wednesday.
Police responded to the 1000 block of Foxglove Court at about 3:47 p.m. for a report of an assault and robbery, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay. The victim said he was riding his mountain bike in the area when one of two suspects forced him off his bike, Lindsay said. A second suspect punched the victim and hit the victim several times with his bike.
A suspect then stole the victim’s knife, shoes, cash and credit cards, Lindsay said. Both suspects ran from the area.
The victim was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center to be treated for lacerations to his face and an apparent head injury, Lindsay said.
Kevin Lemar Scott, 31, of Zinna Court in Wilmington, is wanted on charges of common law robbery and assault with a deadly weapon after an initial investigation, Lindsay said. A description for the second suspect was not immediately available.
Armed robbery reported Wednesday on Castle Street
Police responded to an armed robbery on Castle Street on Wednesday morning.
The armed robbery was reported in the 700 block of Castle Street at about 8 a.m., according to Lindsay. The 39-year-old victim stated that he was approached by two young men who had a silver handgun. The men demanded the contents of his pockets. When the victim refused twice one of the men reportedly said, “Man, I don’t want to have to shoot you,’” Lindsay said.
The victim handed over his cell phone and wallet. Both suspects ran north on South Seventh Street, Lindsay said.
The two suspects were described to be about 16 or 17 years old. One of the suspects had shoulder length dreadlocks while the other suspect had longer dreadlocks.
Group of men robbed at gunpoint on Darlington Avenue
Detectives with the Wilmington Police Department are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Darlington Avenue.
Lindsay said officers were dispatched to Darlington Avenue at 2:14 a.m. Thursday. Five victims stated they were walking to Forest Hills apartments from a bar when they were attacked by a number of suspects. One of the suspects had a silver revolver, Lindsay said. The suspects got away with the victim’s wallet and cellphone.

Wilmington man charged in assault on female, firing gun
A Wilmington man has been arrested in connection with an assault on a 17-year-old female Monday morning.
Officers received multiple reports about a man beating a woman and firing a weapon at her at 8:50 a.m. Monday in the 2000 block of Colwell Avenue, according to Lindsay.
Witnesses reported the man and woman ran down the city bike path. They were located in the 2500 block of Wrightsville Avenue where police arrested 19-year-old Diquelle Joshaun Sweet. The female victim was not injured by gunfire and did not have any injuries that required hospitalization, Lindsay said.
Sweet, of Colwell Avenue in Wilmington, was charged with assault on a female, communicating threats, possession of stolen goods or property, carrying a concealed weapon, going armed to the terror of the people, and resisting, delaying or obstructing public officers, according to jail records.
He is being held at the New Hanover County jail under a $50,000 secured bond.

Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an armed robbery reported Wednesday night.
Deputies responded to the Murrayville shopping center at 2307 N. College Road for a report of armed robbery just before 11 p.m., according to sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Jerry Brewer.
Two men reported they were at the Cashpoints ATM located in the shopping center when two suspects approached them from behind the ATM, Brewer said. The suspects had a handgun and demanded the victims’ cash and cell phones.
The suspects reportedly fled behind the south end of the shopping center, Brewer said.
The victims left the scene and drove to the Lowes Foods parking lot across the street to call 911, he added.
One suspect is described as a black male who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and slim. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and hair in braids to his neck. The second suspect is described as a 6-foot 1-inch tall black male with a heavy build. He wore a white and black sweatshirt and shorts.
Both suspects had their faces covered during the robbery, Brewer said.
