“The Sin Seer,” one of three movies set to film in Wilmington this year, has cast principal characters and is set to start filming later this month.
The suspense thriller from Overflow Entertainment has cast Isaiah Washington (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “Blue Caprice”) in a starring role, along with Lisa Arrindell Anderson, Michael Ironside and C. Thomas Howell.
Anderson’s credits include the locally filmed “Bolden!” and “Madea’s Family Reunion,” while Ironside has appeared in films including “The Machinist” and “Top Gun.” Howell is known for his childhood roles in “E.T.” and “The Outsiders,” though his more recent credits include “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “Criminal Minds.”
“The Sin Seer” tells the story of a woman who can see inside people’s souls and uses that ability to solve crimes. An official synopsis describes the film this way:
Rose Ricard has a gift: She can see into your soul. She can discern the truth from a lie and sometimes she can perceive the very thoughts before they are formed in your mind. She uses these gifts to solve unsolved cases and bring closure where there is none. Her most recent case unwittingly opens the doors to her own past and that of her new partner, Grant Summit.”
Overflow Entertainment, which is producing “The Sin Seer,” is a Los Angeles-based production company whose credits include “The Marriage Chronicles,” a film that has recently aired on the BET television channel. The writer and director is Paul D. Hannah, who is also producing along with Angela White.
Filming in Wilmington is scheduled to start April 27.
