Solve ‘Mystery’ at Cape Fear Museum Saturday

Mystery surrounds downtown Wilmington this weekend, as Cape Fear Museum hosts its annual “whodunit,” “Mystery at the Museum,” from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The event invites families to become super sleuths, search for clues and conduct scientific investigations to solve a mystery, as described in a release from the history and science museum.

“Some scientific equipment is missing from the Learning Center,” it says. “Did aliens snatch it? Maybe it was the swift Velociraptor or the sneaky raccoon.

“Is one of the students a thief? Be on the lookout for red herrings and hidden evidence. Forensic science, observation skills, logic, technology and your imagination will help figure out what’s missing and what happened to it.”

Those who think they know the culprit will report their observations to none other than New Hanover County District Attorney Ben David.

“Mystery at the Museum” is sponsored by Time Warner Cable’s “Connect a Million Minds” initiative. Tickets are $3 for museum members and $6 for nonmembers, with the last tickets sold at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets include admission to the museum, which will close at noon Saturday for setup and reopen at 1 p.m.

More information is available by calling the museum at 798-4370. Cape Fear Museum is located at 814 Market St. in Wilmington.
