The Ferris wheel, whirly rides and tents come down next week, so get out this weekend—if you haven’t already—to the Cape Fear Fair & Expo, which wraps up Sunday at 11 p.m.

Cape Fear Fair & Expo
Fried foods and sweet treats fill the air of the fair and the bellies of fair-goers.

Illuminating the grounds of Wilmington International Airport, the fair features more than 40 rides from Powers Great American Midways, which offers its rides along with carnival concessions direct from the North Carolina State Fair.

Fried food and sweet smells of cotton candy and funnel cake fill the air about the fair, inviting attendees to roam the grounds and take in the festival atmosphere. Something to behold for fun-seekers of all ages, the fair features thrill rides, milder entertainment and attractions including acrobats, vendor tables and a livestock tent.

Floppy-eared rabbits and other furry and feathery friends can be found in the livestock tent.

Inside the tent, prepare for the cute, as plenty of furry and feathery friends are on display for the animal-friendly. Rabbits, goats, a donkey, some cows, and plenty of other critters will make your acquaintance, and be on the lookout for the mini pig derby, where miniature pigs compete for treats.

Tickets are $20, and the fair also offers a $5 ticket for those wanting to walk around but not ride any rides. More information on the fair and attractions can be found here.
