The movie, filmed in Wilmington around this time last year, stars Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis as a stripper and a pot dealer who portray a fake family to fool his supplier, with help from teenage neighbors who play along as their kids.

The film was shot in several recognizable locations, including the strip club on College Road, City Limits Saloon in downtown Wilmington and the Port City Java at Front and Grace streets.

Scheduled for a nationwide release Aug. 7, “We’re the Millers” premieres locally with advance screenings at 8 p.m. at Regal Mayfaire Stadium 16 and Carmike Cinemas in Wilmington and at Surf Cinemas in Southport. Mayfaire has also scheduled additional showings for 9 and 10 p.m.

According to a synopsis on the movie’s website, Sudeikis plays a small-time pot dealer who, in an effort to get right with his supplier—played by Ed Helms of “The Office” and “The Hangover”—recruits his stripper neighbor and local teenagers—played by Will Poulter and Emma Roberts—to portray his family as he travels south of the border for a Fourth of July weekend.

Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, whose credits include 2004’s “Dodgeball,” “We’re the Millers” is written by Bob Fisher and Steve Faber, whose credits include “Wedding Crashers,” with a screenplay co-written by Sean Anders and John Morris, whose credits include “Hot Tub Time Machine.”

An official trailer and more information are available on the movie’s website.
