Monday, Feb. 16
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. in the NHC Courthouse, 24 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- Presentation of Novant five-year update
- Consideration of $1 million interlocal agreement for city acquisition of green space
- Public hearing on the comprehensive plan update
The Wilmington City Council will hold an agenda review at 8:30 a.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here.
The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m., 30 Government Center Drive in Bolivia. The agenda includes consideration of a name change from the Department of Code Administration to the Building Safety Department. Commissioners will also appoint one or more members to be liaisons to the Boiling Spring Lakes Wastewater Committee. The meeting will livestream here.
The Leland Town Council will meet at 1 p.m. for an agenda review meeting at the Leland Town Hall. Discussion topics include an update on voting districts and flood damage prevention regulations. Also, review of revisions to the Leland Road Plan and livestock regulations.
Tuesday, Feb. 17
The Wilmington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- Resolution Authorizing an Interlocal Agreement with New Hanover County for the Operation of the Forensic Lab
- Resolution Authorizing Amendment to an Installment Financing Contract in an Amount Not to Exceed $75,000,000 to Finance and Refinance Various City Projects
The Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen will host a budget workshop at 9 a.m. in the Town Hall Conference Room. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Carolina Beach Board of Adjustment will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes a public hearing for a variance request for a home by Floyd Construction Company Inc. on Pinfish Lane. Meetings are typically uploaded here.
The Belville ABC Board will host a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Brunswick Community College, Leland Center. An agenda was not posted by press.
The New Hanover County Board of Elections will hold its special meeting on Feb. 17, 5 p.m. in the Board Room at the Board of Elections Office, 226 Government Center Dr The purpose of the meeting is to review absentee ballot applications and discuss other election-related matters as needed. The Pender County Board of Elections will hold an absentee ballot meeting Feb. 17, 6 p.m. at 305 S. Walker St. in Burgaw.
Brunswick County Board of Elections will hold a meeting in commissioners’ chambers at 30 Government Dr. at 4 p.m. Stream this meeting here.
The Pender County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m., 805 S. Walker Street, Burgaw. The agenda includes:
- An update on the emergency services merger.
- An update on newspaper spending between the Wilmington Starnews and the Pender-Topsail Post & Voice.
- Consideration of a resolution for redistricting County Commissioner voting districts.
- Consideration of the Hampstead Library project budget ordinance and construction contract.

Wednesday, Feb. 18
Brunswick H2GO Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer will meet at 5 p.m. at the RO Treatment Plant in the the training room, 146 Gregory Rd. in Belville. The agenda includes varied departmental reports, as well as setting the date for the budget workshop and the DAA Form for HMGP Grant.
The Pender County Board of Adjustment will meet at 9 a.m., 805 S. Walker Street in Burgaw. An agenda was not posted by press.
Thursday, Feb. 19
The Southport Planning Board will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Southport Community Building. The agenda includes:
- Bed and Breakfast Use Standards Text Amendment
- Rules of Procedure – Modification Request
- Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendment

The Navassa Town Council will host a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Building. An agenda was not posted by press.
The New Hanover County ABC Board will host a regular meeting at 9 a.m. at 6000 Market St. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Burgaw Planning Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Burgaw Town Center, 108 E. Wilmington Street. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Leland Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Leland Town Hall. The agenda includes a presentation on the Brunswick County School bond. Also, dissolving the town’s Audit Committee. More will be added to the agenda after the council’s agenda review meeting on Monday.
The Surf City Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Surf City Municipal Complex. The agenda includes a request to set a public hearing to consider the annexation of three Onslow County parcels on a total of about 245 acres. Also, council will consider multiple budget ordinance amendments for storm water and wastewater improvements. The meeting will livestream here.
The Topsail Island Shoreline Protection Committee will meet at 2 p.m. in the North Topsail Beach Town Hall. The agenda includes an update on federal and state legislation and the status of the vitex dune project. The meeting will livestream here.

- 4125 Echo Farms Blvd.: Variance to City Code Sections 18-205, 18-319 & 18-344 for a restaurant development with drive-through facilities.
- 6312 Pigfish Lane: Variance to Legacy City Code Sections 18-248 and 18-249 to locate a detached accessory dwelling unit in front of the primary dwelling.
- 1009 S. 13th St.: Variance to City Code Section 18-316 tree removal standards to remove or impact the critical root zone of specimen trees in the MD-17 district.
