The Agenda: Government meetings this week

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Every Monday Port City Daily will share upcoming government and community meetings around the tri-county region. If there’s an item of public interest, it will be included, too.

Monday, May 26

Government offices are closed for Memorial Day.

Tuesday, May 27

The New Hanover County Board of Education will meet at 2 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1803 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • NHHS historic applications
  • Retention/supporting employees
  • Public records request

The Pender County Board of Education will conduct a Committee of the Whole meeting on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 9:30 a..m. in the Dr. Katherine Herring Resource Center, 798 U.S. Highway 117. The meeting will be livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • PCS Continuing budget resolution
  • Booster club policies
  • Clear bag policy  

The Leland Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m. in town hall, 102 Town Hall Drive. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Recommendation for Adoption of the CAMA Land Use Addendum

Wednesday, May 28

The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will meet at 3 p.m. at 525 N. Third St. The meeting will be livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Resolution confirming the Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s position regarding the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Replacement Project 
  • WMPO Safe Streets and Roads for All Commitment

The Pender County Board of Education will conduct a special meeting at 8:30 a..m. in the Dr. Katherine Herring Resource Center, 798 U.S. Highway 117 to discuss the three-tiered bell schedule. The meeting will be livestreamed here.

Thursday, May 29

The New Hanover County Commissioners will hold an agenda review at 4 p.m. in the NHC Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive.
