WILMINGTON — In light of recent storms or life emergencies that have left many people vulnerable without basic furnishing needs, one area nonprofit has put out the call to help.

2Share Inc. — an all-volunteer organization — is welcoming donations for people who may have lost belongings ably refurnish their homes. On Nov. 2, the nonprofit is hosting a Stuff the Truck event and will accept a multitude of items, including:

  • New linens, such as twin and full sheets sets, blankets, quilts, comforters, and pillows
  • Sets of flatware
  • Pots and pans
  • Bath towels
  • Bath mats
  • Shower curtains and curtain rings
  • Mattress covers,
  • New or gently used lamps, lamp shades
  • Metal platform bed frames

A full list of donations can be accessed here as well.

Donation drop-offs will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of First Baptist Activity Center at Independence Boulevard and Canterbury Road.

2Share works primarily with people who fall below the poverty line. Though a large portion includes single mothers, the nonprofit has helped seniors, adults with disabilities, and others who have experienced homelessness or lost items due to mold, water damage, bed bugs, or other emergencies.

Since its founding in 2022, the nonprofit has had a 22% increase in service.

“These 900 households represent over 3,000 of our neighbors, more than 2,000 of whom are children,” Don Arabian, volunteer director of 2SHARE, said in a press release.

In 2023, the nonprofit — whose mission is to give people going through hardships hope and dignity — delivered 250 beds and 750 other pieces of furniture.

Refreshments will be provided to donors or people who come by the Stuff the Truck event to learn more about 2Share on Nov. 2. Anyone looking to provide financial support instead of furnishings donations can do so here.
