Controlled burn scheduled for Carolina Beach State Park

CAROLINA BEACH — Thursday, a prescribed burn will take place on Pleasure Island.

Portions will close in Carolina Beach State Park when the burn begins starting at 10 a.m. Roads and trails including Nature Trail Lane, the Flytrap Trail, and portions of the Swamp, Sugarloaf, and Campground trails, will be shuttered to the public.

Th rest or the park, including the marina, will remain open. After the burn concludes, operations everywhere will resume as normal.
