Penderlea Farms to host Earth Day Festival

BURGAW — An area tree farm in Pender County is celebrating Earth Day with an all-day festival taking place, yoga and a tree sale.

Penderlea Farms, located at 1225 Stag Park Road in Burgaw, welcomes the public on Saturday, April 22, to its free festival. The day will kick off with an hour-long yoga sessions from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the farm. All levels are welcome and the class will be hosted by Longwave Yoga, featuring vinyasa sequencing.

The family-friendly event starts at noon and lasts through 4 p.m., with a children’s area, featuring a bouncy house, face painting, a hay ride and games. A local vendor market will be set up as well with food trucks, a coffee and smoothie bar, beer and live music with the Smokey Dunes.

As well a tree sale with special Earth Day pricing on 25 gallon Live Oaks will take place. Penderlea, on a 575 acres, specializes in heritage Live Oaks grown from acorns harvested at area locations such as Airlie Gardens, Fort Fisher and Wrightsville Beach. It caries a variety of oaks and Bald Cypress.The farm can help with delivery and installation if needed.
