Port City Taste kicks off 10 days of indulgence

WILMINGTON — The most delicious days of fall have arrived with Port City Taste, featuring a dozen restaurants offering prix-fixe deals to enjoy the best in local dining.

Southeastern North Carolina’s premier restaurant week, Port City Taste event is presented by news source Port City Daily, in collaboration with its media partners and sister companies, Penguin 98.3 and The Dude 93.7. The goal is to send diners to locally owned restaurants and enjoy prix-fixe specials that suit all budgets; menu options are priced $20, $35 and $50.

But why support local? Nonprofit Business Alliance for Local Living Economies breaks it down like this: For every $100 spent at a local business or restaurant, $68 stays in the community, as compared to $43 retained by a national chain’s footprint.

Port City Taste takes place Oct. 2-11 and there are no coupons, special passwords, or tickets needed to participate; just head to one of the listed businesses, ask for the special menu and eat, drink, indulge!
