WILMINGTON — The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College has announced two acts coming to its stage this summer: Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Graham Nash is bringing a retrospective celebration of his music, while alternative rock trailblazers, Pixies, will also perform.

As a founding member of both the Hollies and Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Graham Nash has seen rock history unfold from the launch of the British Invasion to the birth of the Laurel Canyon movement and beyond, continuing his legacy as a solo artist. An extraordinary Grammy Award-winning renaissance artist – and self-described “simple man” – Nash was inducted twice into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, for both his work with Crosby, Stills and Nash and his work as a solo artist.

Nash’s body of work began with his contributions to the Hollies’ opus from 1964 to 1968, including “On A Carousel” and “Carrie Anne,” and continues all the way to “Now” (2023), his most recent solo album.  After leaving the Hollies at the end of 1968, Nash partnered with Stephen Stills, David Crosby, and Neil Young, leaving a permanent imprint on contemporary music history with the first Crosby, Stills & Nash LP (1969) and CSNY’s Déjà Vu (1970). His contribution to CSN’s oeuvre was further solidified with a pair of top ten hits, “Just A Song Before I Go” (1977) and “Wasted on The Way” (1982).

Nash’s career as a solo artist took flight in 1971 with the release of “Songs for Beginners,” before the continuation of his work with David Crosby and the launch of the most resilient, long-lived, and productive partnership to emerge from the CSNY camp: the eponymously titled Graham Nash/David Crosby (1972). This landmark album featured Nash’s “Southbound Train” and “Immigration Man” and was followed by subsequent albums Wind on the Water (1975) and Whistling Down the Wind (1976).

On the Graham Nash – Live on Tour 2026 run, audiences can expect a career-spanning lineup of Nash’s best songs, with Nash joined by Todd Caldwell (keyboards), Adam Minkoff (bass, drums, guitar, and vocals), and Zack Djanikian (guitar, bass, drums, and vocals).

Pixies
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, at 7 p.m.

Marking four decades of their unique and influential sound that helped shape modern alternative rock, Pixies are back with their Pixies 40 anniversary tour. Formed in Boston in 1986, Pixies emerged as one of the most crucial bands of their era, known for their volatile mix of jagged guitars, surreal lyrics, and quiet-loud dynamics that would go on to inspire generations of artists. Best known for iconic songs like “Where Is My Mind,” “Here Comes Your Man,” “Hey,” and “Debaser,” as well as the platinum-certified album “Doolittle,” their unmistakable style paved the way for bands such as Nirvana, Radiohead, The Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer and countless others.

Now, 40 years on, founding members Black Francis, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering, joined by current bassist Emma Richardson, are celebrating their enduring legacy with a worldwide tour. Audiences can expect a powerful live experience featuring beloved hits alongside material from their latest album, “The Night the Zombies Came.”

For Wilson Center Members, tickets will be available for Graham Nash on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 10 a.m., and for Pixies on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 12 p.m. Tickets for both shows go on sale online and in person to the general public on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10 a.m.
